Mount Only

If you already have a perfectly good OTA and just want to upgrade your existing dob mount, or are tired of lugging around your equatorial, we can customize an e² mount just for you. Our scopes use tubes of the sizes shown in the table below. If your tube is different than this, we will need to know its outer diameter. We will then make custom parts for the cage to make sure it clamps properly.

We'll also need to know the balance point of your tube, measured from the back. This way we can make sure the tube will not hit the base when rotated vertical.

The kit would include:

All precut Phenolic coated parts,
Roller azimuth bearing,
Adjustable azimuth brake,
Teflon altitude bearings,
Rubber feet,
All screws and hardware,
Quick-release cam clamping system,
Carrying handle,
and our custom end trim for you to add to your tube if you wish.

Standard Kit (6", 8", 10")

The standard kit is intended for those who either already have their own optics or intend to make or procure them themselves. It includes everything in the Mount Only Kit as well as:

Spider and Secondary Holder
Primary Mirror Cell
Focuser
Monokote^® Tube Covering

In order to keep shipping costs down, we do not include the tube, but you can get one at any hardware store or home center for under $10.

Complete Kit (All Sizes)

The Complete Kit includes everything in the Standard Kit as well as;

Primary Mirror
Secondary Mirror

In order to keep shipping costs down, we do not include the tube with the 6", 8", or 10" kits, but you can get one at any hardware store or home center for under $10. The 12.5" kit ships with a predrilled tube.

Deluxe Kit (12.5" Only)

The Deluxe Kit replaces the spider, mirror cell, and focuser with the best components available. The secondary mirror is also slightly smaller than the one in the Complete Kit due to lower focuser height.
