Page 2:  Upgrades!

The first image shows a few packages of upgrade parts.  The bagged parts were pretty cheap, but the aluminum axles in the tin were as expensive as the whole original kit.  They make a huge difference in the durability and performance of the model though.

I got a set of weights to go inside the front wheels and improve climbing traction.  They work to an extent, but they completely fill the volume of the tire which means there is no more compressibility for soaking up uneven terrain.

In the first image you can see the plastic rear axle on the left and the new aluminum front axle on the right.  Big difference in appearance.  The attach points for the suspension links are slightly different which means you need new links.  I also added a metal drive shaft.  The axle upgrade kit does not come with any instructions, not even a picture, so figuring out how they go together was a bit of a challenge.  The right hand image shows all the upgrades sans one drive shaft I was still waiting on.
