e2 Telescopes represent an evolutionary advance in altitude-azimuth mount Newtonian reflectors. We have improved upon nearly every aspect of the conventional Dobsonian mount, resulting in a more enjoyable star gazing experience at an affordable price. The entire line of e2 telescopes offer features not available on any other alt-az mount. Our proprietary G-Frame Rockerbox® allows the tube to be translated axially for proper balance and rotated 360 degrees for achieving the most comfortable eyepiece position. The azimuth bearing consists of a series of 24 caged cylindrical rollers that provide nearly effortless, backlash-free motion, with an adjustable friction brake to eliminate any unwanted movement from the wind or uneven ground. Even the base construction material is an e2 exclusive. Made from laminated Finnish birch and protected with a gorgeous red Phenolic coating, e2 Dobson mounts are all but impervious to the elements as well as attractive in appearance. All components have been meticulously computer designed and modeled by our professional engineering staff to ensure precision fit, function, and optical quality. Every dimension and feature was carefully chosen to provide the optimum experience.
Our kits arrive pre-cut and pre-drilled with all hardware, mirror cell, spider, focuser, and straightforward, fully illustrated instructions for construction of the optical tube assembly.
