Tamiya TRF 421 Project
Page 1: Unboxing
The TRF 421 comes in a small box with a carrying handle like many
standalone chassis. Like the TRF 420 before it, this is a
corrugated plastic box rather than cardboard, presumably for use as long
term storage and transport. There is no box art on this kind of
box,
instead there is a label on the side with the relevant details about
the model.
When the box is opened you
see very little. The box looks almost empty with only a few molded
plastic parts and a bubble wrapped bag of hardware.
Because TRF kits don't come with a body, the sticker sheet doesn't
represent any particular livery. These TRF 421 stickers are
unique to this model.
All of the parts are laid out on my table. I've
knolled all the parts, set out the manual, and have prepared to start
the build. There is a lot of aluminum and
carbon here. Compared to previous TRF models, it seems like there
are a higher proportion of plastic parts. This is partially
because of the upper suspension arms which are now wishbones instead of
just links.
